Stepping out from the studio where she has been writing her follow up album set for release mid next year, she will be performing all the tracks from the latest release along with a few surprises. This tour is not to be missed as it will be the final shows in which Paris will perform her album Various Small Fires before heading to the UK to entertain new audiences.
She has promised that these shows will have her leaving with a bang!
For the first time in 2011, The Snowdroppers will embark on their only national tour, hitting regions they've only dreamed of till now, including us at HNY. To mark this truly momentous occasion, they'll be touring with a brand new spankin' single available on 7" Vinyl, only available for purchase at these shows.
So if you like the blues, if you like punk rock, and you like sexual innuendo..... then you'll maybe, well, possibly kinda like The Snowdroppers.
Minx's been one of the most popular and national DJ's here at HNY for good reason. She's the only female in the 2011 InTheMix Awards and a finalist in the prestigious EMI She Can DJ competition. Touring nationally and overseas all the time, it's great to have her back here in Launceston.
Minx bought in the 2011 year for us here at HNY and has a album coming out "in time for summer."
To use a sporting analogy, Rockhampton's favourite sons BUSBY MAROU are
heading into the business end of the season with the wind well and truly in
their sails.
After scoring high rotation slots from Triple J and NOVA, BUSBY MAROU'S debut self-titled album reached #24 on the ARIA album charts and #5 on the Australian artist
charts. The boys are also making their presence felt with strong showings in the
nominations at the AIR, Deadly and Queensland Music Awards.
After a stunning response from fans and media BUSBY MAROU have had
similarly good fortune in the live arena selling out their first ever headline
tour in July and scoring coveted support slots with Birds Of Tokyo & Pete
Murray and Dolly Parton.
BUSBY MAROU are excited to announce the What's Yours Is Mine tour sharing their biggest production yet through the month of November.
Joining the band on the road are Sydney six-piece WINTER PEOPLE, who will be venturing into a number of unvisited territories for the first time off the back of their wildly successful debut single, Wishingbone.
The Funkoars are back 'n badder than ever and are set to unleash their highly anticipated fourth album The Quickening on Friday 16th of September through Golden Era Records. Fresh off the back of releasing their thumping first single Where I Am, The Funkoars are proud to announce The Quickening Album Launch Tour which will see them touring extensively throughout the country from September through November.
Known for having one of the most dangerous shows in the business, The Funkoars will be performing an all-new live show incorporating songs from The Quickening as well as their claaaassic material that forged them one of the biggest cult followings in the country.
Joining The Funkoars on the road nationally is Golden Era label-mate Vents (Marked For Death out now), Broken Tooth Entertainment’s Ciecmate (Game Over out now) and Adelaide newcomers Mase & Mattic (Sound The Horns out now).
HNY are looking forward to having The Funkoars back in Launceston and hearing Where I Am & other songs off their new album live.
For Tasmanians with a hankering to taste FRENZAL RHOMB'S finely marinated rock'n'roll delicacy in the live setting, fear not that old age, medical problems and attractive odds at the local greyhounds will keep this band off the stage. With a stellar track record for causing absolute pandemonium at any show they play; be it inciting huge circle pits, destroying pinatas of political leaders or drinking every other band's beer; trust the brand you know - Frenzal Rhomb.
The self-produced new album Empires sees the band at full throttle and at the peak of their powers with crowd pleasers 'Marble Arc', 'Misery', 'Hold The Line', 'Scars', 'When You Go' and of course 'Into Eternity' all included. Trizo's guitar onslaught throughout the album is simply mind blowing. But it's not all pedal to the metal though, the beautifully crafted acoustic ballad 'Darkness Meets The Day' showcases Clint Boges's incredible vocal prowess.
'Empires' is proof that Independent Australian Rock is alive and kicking!
'Empires' is a debut album produced by two musicians who are enjoying themselves and who have found a partner in crime for life. Thousand Needles In Red provide Rock fans with music they can crank up and let loose to. The jump from their debut EP to 'Empires' is breathtaking – blackmunk.com

True Live are a truly unique entity. Since their very first performance in 2005, they have defied
categorisation and belonged to a genre all of their own. With each of the band's six prodigal
members bringing their own set of influences to the table, the outcome is something unlike
anything you're accustomed to hearing.
Formed from a selected group of musicians from Melbourne’s rich improv scene by leader /
frontman / producer RHyNO, with the assistance of older, wiser musicians - the young upstart
managed to score himself the hands down finest selection of players from some of the more
eclectic realms of musical taste. The collective includes late period Miles / Coltrane head with a
love for Madlib and Justice, Thai Matus (keyboards) and obsessive bebop violinist Tamil Rogeon.
Then there's hip-hop trad jazz DJ / double bassist Tom Tom, rare groove funk drummer Choi and
heir to the Blake string linage (3 generations deep of string players) and Nitin Sawney collaborator,
Tim Blake.
True Live released their new album 'Found Lost' on April 10th 2009 to glowing reviews. While some bands may prefer to specialise in one sound or cater to an existing audience, True Live are bona fide musical ambition personified. And the result speaks for itself.
Bass Kleph has been on the dance music scene longer than possibly any of us can remember, notching up success after success with his remixing prowess that's been utilised on top name compilations from his own stable right through to Ministry Of Sound. Still releasing compilations, the latest been Bass Kleph : Presents, released back in May, he's coming to HNY to play some of his latest and greatest alike.
Hailing from what rural Queenslanders commonly refer to as The Big Smoke, Brisbane born Evil Eddie looks set to become the next big
winner on the cult variety show "Bundamba's Got Talent."
On his highly anticipated debut album tentatively title "Welcome To
Flavour Country", Eddie will follow in the footsteps of artists such as
Prince, Dave Grohl and that homeless guy in the Valley Mall, by recording
all of the instrumentation entirely by himself. This is, of course, with the
exception of drums because as many of you would know, Eddie's way too
unco to do anything remotely rhythmical with more than one limb at a
time.
The first single off the album, a little diddy about his home-state aptly
titled "Queensland," has already seen critics and friends alike shocked
and appalled at the lyrical content and generally brazen attitude that
comes with Evil's rock star-style delusions of grandeur. Released on his
own label Bewilderbeats and distributed through MGM, "Queensland"
is doused in Eddie's trademark impious lyrical style. Some call it
uncouth, while others call it brilliant. We prefer brilliantly uncouth.
The Evil Eddie live show also makes it's debut this year with an all star
Brisbane based backing band boasting backbone members of
Butterfingers, Laneous and the Family Yah, Bang Bang Boss Kelly,
The Disables and Spitfireliar. The line-up will take the stage at the
2010 Peats Ridge and another little soon to be named music
festival, and may also pop-up to play a couple of other secret shows
around the place. Whether it proves to be a raging success or an epic
failure the Evil Eddie experience promises to be something of a spectacle
for all who are there to witness it.

After a great EP launch for Forever Faded in May of this year at HNY, Deligma are already coming back. If you missed them last time, you've gotta check out these rocking Tassie guys. Supported by Woof Woof & Forever Recollection.
"'Raiders' is the sort of song that will no doubt bewitch the youthOwl Eyes is showing no signs of slowing down" Clem Bastow, INPRESS Single of the week
"This is pure indie pop at its perfectly structured finest." Sebastian D'Alonzo, DRUM MEDIA PERTH
In the space of just a few months weve seen Owl Eyes blossom from a peripheral presence in Australia's musical landscape to one of its key players. She's played with big name touring acts from around the world, enjoyed a healthy rotation of her single 'Raiders' on air waves across the country and won over countless hearts on a national headline tour of her own. So what better time could there be to get back on the road and push the envelope that little bit further?
Following the digital release of her second EP Raiders last week, Owl Eyes is set to embark on her biggest tour to date. The 16-date trek will take the unfathomably talented Melburnian to places near and far, luckily including HNY of course, playing to the young and young-at-heart, endearing herself to fans new and old.
It's been just over a year since Emily Scott last performed at HNY, which was one of the most popular winter sets the crowd were able to enjoy. Her sets are always in high demand and we're excited to have her back!
Oh Snap! Look who's playing at HNY at the end of August!! None other than American DJ Oh Snap! Sick of tight tshirts, gravity defying hairdos and overbearing cologne, Oh Snap! is here with his latest single, 'Who Let The Douchebags In?'.
Dead Letter Circus are pleased to announce the 'NO FRACKING WAY TOUR'. Dead Letter Circus will be supported by Melbourne based rock outfit Jericco & London based I AM GIANT.
Every day we take drinking fresh water for granted, water is as essential as clean air to life on earth. Protecting these two natural resour/strong title=0ces must be the highest priority to sustain life on planet earth and to protect the planet for future generations to come.
If you've seen the 'Gasland' documentary you'll know the many risks attached to coal seam gas (CSG) operations. For those who haven't caught the doco, CSG is a fossil fuel and a significant source of greenhouse gas pollution. On a lifecycle basis it generates more than 40 times the amount of greenhouse gas per unit of energy generated than solar or wind energy. What you may not be aware of is the fact that there are plans to drill more than 40,000 CSG wells in Queensland alone. We are experiencing the early stages of an industry that has a massively destructive impact on local land and communities, as well as an enormous greenhouse footprint. Dead Letter Circus firmly believe that Australia needs to follow France's lead and say no to CSG operations and the method of Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking), a controversial technique used to extract natural gas and oil trapped in underground rock formations by injecting a mixture of water, sand and toxic chemicals at high pressure to crack open the rock and release the fossil fuels. Fracking places our water at direct risk of contamination.
Dead Letter Circus will be raising awareness towards this issue during their tour. There will be a petition for punters to sign and information available for anyone who is interested in learning how they can further help prevent this destructive method gaining a foothold in Australia. For more info on the environmental consequences of CSG please visit lockthegate.org.au.
It's been under a year since Bag Raiders last performed at HNY and it was a great set. Considering the great/aa href=∓
year its been for them - and how their career has exploded - we're keen to see how their set has changed.

Fresh off the back of the WAMIs festival and a brief east coast run, Perth based The Panda Band brace themselves for their national Charisma Weapon Album Tour, which kicks off here at HNY!
Recently returning to the touring circuit after an extended break from the Australian spotlight, The Panda Band were received back with open arms at this years 2011 WAMIS - "It was nice to see The Panda Band back up on stage," Triple J's Home & Hosed blog.
Since the success of their debut single Sleepy Little Deathtoll Town and subsequent album release of This Vital Chapter (We're Almost Not Even Here), The Panda Band have been busy touring America, writing and building their own home studio to record their heavily anticipated sophomore album. The new release is more of a collective effort than ever before, with the band members sharing the writing process equally as well as taking on production endeavours.
Offering the first taste of the new album to their fans as a FREE DOWNLOAD, the new single The Fix was promptly added to Triple J and heralded as Beat Magazine's single of the week. "A ballsy, day glo baroque pop single... fleshy and ambitious tune" 01/06/11.

TSOMM are a synth bomb, the fallout being incredible tron-pop, beat driven songs with deep, rhythmic electric guitar hooks, glam-rock fronted by melody making, flesh and blood drones. Cal Young and Simon McIntosh take their audience on a journey that starts with a ramp and drives through the still clean disco to the fragmenting and decaying sounds of the future.
Because if I Die was mixed in the UK by The Slips (Ladyhawke, Bertie Blackman) and Mastered at The Exchange in London by Nilish Patel (Daft Punk). It is the first taste test from their forthcoming debut LP A Personal Universe. Their debut EP sold 3000+ copies which came from constant gigging and turning on fans both live and on-line.
In 2004, Cal Young & Simon McIntosh started wagging audio design classes together, in order to jam on a very old drum kit and an un-tuneable guitar just for kicks. They later progressed into electronic music, hording bits and pieces off eBay to start a band that became The Scientists of Modern Music.
The duo came second in a college band competition, strangely listed under 'acoustic rock', but still managed to make an impact which scored them a couple of local shows in late 2005. From there Cal and Simon wrote a handful of songs in the space of two weeks and released an EP through Rubber Records which got them a special mention on triple J and secured them spins on radio stations around Australia.
Cal and Simon have been busy and plan to be busier still with a single release tour to major cities planned for June 2011 and a full album tour of the nation planned for August 2011.
Their popularity at live shows and on the on the festival circuit is testament to their musicality and incredibly energetic live show. The Age labelled their 2008 Meredith performance "infectious... at 3am."

"Making stuff is cool, and doing that together is the bomb. These songs are addictive. Every time you tip the telescope, it's a new ride. We made GET LOVED so you could find your own adventure in it," says Nathan Hudson, founder of Faker.
"We think GET LOVED is a record which looks up at night in empty cities, sprints through a crowd, which takes pictures of beautiful broken things and which, despite its adult ironies, will carve out a map in your heart. It's been fun. We hope you like it."
Keen to show they're as strong as ever after their recent year off, Faker are coming to HNY this June.
